Our Company:

A green building may cost more up front, but saves through lower operating costs over the life of the building. The green building approach applies a project life cycle cost analysis for determining the appropriate up-front
expenditure. This analytical method calculates costs over the useful life of the asset. These and other cost savings can only be fully realized when they are incorporated at the Green Build conceptual design phase with the assistance of an integrated team of professionals.

Our Team:

Steven Caplan – President

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Steven is a long-time Colorado resident. When he move to the state in 1975, he immediately put to work the skills he had learned from working in his family’s business – a major Detroit-area general contractor and builder. In 1981, after obtaining his Master Plumber License, Steven opened his own business, serving many of the major commercial and residential building contractors in the Denver area, learning how to build homes, Colorado style.

In the late 1980’s, Steven helped form and open a home care agency called Family Care at Home, Inc. Through this agency, he came into contact and worked with some of the leaders in the care of the elderly and disabled. Steven developed a broad and powerful network within this community, which can be of enormous help to those relocating with elderly parents or people with special needs.

Steven’s extensive experience in both construction and caring for people are combined to help you and your family with one of the most important pursuits you’ll ever undertake...building your custom dream home.

Benchmark Construction, Inc.

Founded in 1999, Benchmark Construction is a general contractor specializing in custom home building and remodeling. Two full-time project managers and three project superintendents ensure that each custom home project receives the attention to detail that make it a “home” in the truest sense of the word, not just another house. The company is licensed in Denver, Boulder, Lafayette, Arvada, Broomfield, Westminster, Adams County, and Columbine Valley. Benchmark is Green Advantage Certified.

DAJ Design, Inc.

DAJ Design has been providing innovative residential architectural design services for custom homes since 2001. The company is focused on “green building” principles for sustainable home construction. DAJ is Green Advantage Certified and Green Points Certified. The company is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), a member of the Boulder Green Building Guild, and board president & member of the Center for Resource Conservation.
